The time came to call in the String troops to attend the “Fight Night”. Tension was in the air and the competition was tough. Ginita joined NPA members Rory Aitken producer of Turning Shadows and Antony Zaki, producer of Against Nature, both superbly made films.
The NPA SHORTS Jury had already pre-selected the film they wished to fast track and save from the public vote, so huge congratulations went to Jes Benstock and his documentary film Holocaust Tourist.
After screening all four films a short alcoholic break followed whilst votes were counted. After a dramatic silence, the result was announced… String won!!! It will join six other short film finalists in March and screen at the Genesis Cinema for the chance to win a screening during Cannes 2007.
A big thanks goes to Shura Kellhofer, Jessica Whittaker, Alex Bradbury, members of the String crew and the team at the New Producers Alliance. www.npa.org.uk

The summer is not the easiest of times to move forward with a filmmaking process, as there are people’s holidays to consider. Finally, we found a day we could all make and were able to online String! It was the first time we saw our string animated credits on screen and the lengthy list of kind and helpful people who are responsible for its making. Overwhelming.
